Cosmetic Finish

Allt Solutions can supply Pig Nose, Snake Eye and 2-hole fixings in a variety of materials and protective finishes. We have listed below some of the most common finishes to help our customers decide on the best way forward
Chrome Plating: Electro plating process which gives a very good cosmetic finish and can be used on various different material types. The cosmetic finish is very good and gives a high polished look similar to the machined stainless steel.
Anodising: An acid based process where an electrical current is passed between an anode and a diode while the parts are suspended in a sulphuric acid solution, can only be used on Aluminium parts however. This process is basically reproducing an oxidisation process. Two basic types of processes can be offered by Allt Solutions, a decorative process with a coating thickness of about 10 microns. This is a thin coat and is best used for decorative in door products that are not subject to wear. The second process is hard anodising with a process thickness of 25 microns, very hard and is often used in the marine environment. A dying process can also be used that gives very good cosmetic finishes in a variety of different colours.
Galvanised: Zinc hot dip process used for corrosion prevention, the finish on this process is poor and should not be used for cosmetic applications.
Chemical Black: Oxide coating used on mainly mild steel parts. Cosmetic finish can be poor when compared to other finishes. The oxide coating does however help to protect the part from the elements.
